U23 European Athletic Championships 2025

Today commenced the start of the European U23 Athletics Championships in Bergen, Nicola Tuthill from Ireland led the qualifiers with an impressive 71.33 m, which is her second‑best ever, securing the top spot across both qualification groups.

Ahead of the U23 Championships, Athletics Ireland noted her progression since narrowly missing out in 2023:

“Tuthill narrowly missed a podium finish in the 2023 edition … She is again ranked highly and will be hoping to add to the historic gold she claimed”

Also advancing to the final were Rachele Mori (68.39 m) Valentina Savva (68.03 m) Aileen Kuhn (67.96 m) Malin Garbell (67.91 m) All others threw over 65 m to make the top 12

The final is scheduled for 18 July.

In the Mens Discus throw some good distances were throws, with the automatic mark being set at 59m, Steven Richter led with 63.59 m, Miká Sosna (60.78 m) Marius Karges (59.96 m)
